Don, <one of the speakers made the comment "What we said publicly" implying to me at least what was said privately might have been much different.>

This has always been Intel's way of speaking. For the press, because Intel can be so secretive, it's a game of trying to figure out what Intel might be planning behind the scenes vs. what Intel officially announces to the public.

With regard to Rambus, Intel is still very much behind Rambus. Even though the alternatives are being given the nod, Intel's mid-term and long-term plans still involve Rambus. Perhaps that's one reason why Intel is very determined to get 820 Camino off the ground, in order to get the Rambus ball rolling as early as possible.

That's Intel's public stance. Privately, many things are discussed, some which the public just should not know (but tabloid journalists like the yuk-yuk Register will distort and publish anyway).

Don,

"What we said publicly" implying to me at least what was said privately might have been much different.,

You show your bias by your implication.

Saying "what we said publicly" doesn't necessarily mean that the contrary was said privately. It very possibly meant that more detail was said privately than publicly, as would have been expected.

Have a nice day. I am.
