<How much influence does Allen have on MSFT?>

It has been suggested that Allen helped to engineer the recent ctch/msn deal.

It is hard to imagine that the second-largest msft shareholder, former business partner, and life-long friend/associate would not continue to wield influence over Mr. Gates.

Gates and Allen are not Jobs and Wozniak. They are childhood friends, prep school, mom's computer club, harvard, Altaire/Etc to Microsoft. Sibling rivalry: can Allen become the richest man in the world. When you have more money than matters, money is just a way of keeping score. (So says an old poker playing buddy). GNET's Horowitz (and all the brothers, are part of this Nordstrom Seattle social club too!)

What IS the relationship between Allen and Gates? He didn't go to the wedding. I can't confirm that he wasn't invited, though.
