I didn't say it was a likelihood, only that it is a possibility under certain circumstance and that you should exercise caution and study the fine print of the agreement.

The biggest problem that I see with reverse mortgages for the elderly is the psychological hurdle that you have to get past with many of them. They want "that security" of knowing their house is bought and paid for and that if needed down the road they can "dip into" the equity. They generally dislike using the equity of their homes for day to day living expenses.

Or if your property value declines for some reason.

I know of a situation in the county where I live where many, many homes are declining in value because of the airport expansion.
