Haim, i believe 7 of the 12 voting members of the FOMC are nominated by the federal administration...i'm not sure how the other 5 are decided upon. which one is the dude from Texas? some of the FOMC's members do strike me as somewhat confused....especially when it comes to their inability to spot the bubble. Helmut Schmidt is only one in a growing circle of luminaries (many of advanced age and therefore acquainted with the eventual outcome of new era type asset manias) who had a critical word or two to say about the current situation...Kenneth Galbraith, Milton Friedman, Paul Volcker, Eisuke Sakakibara, to name a few. so the bears have one consolation, they're in VERY good company. the Bulls have Joe Battapaglia. and the money of course....<gggg> regards, hb
