Was 3 am 41,000? Gee, that's terrible. Oregon has started reprimanding doctors who don't TREAT pain. It's about goddam effing time.

Effing bullshit, man. The KEY, the KEY, is as you said ~ it's someone else's pain. And again, there are LOTS of people who have not experienced it; or maybe briefly once in their lives, but not enough, to realize what we're causing people.

For NO reason.

It makes me want to pound the shit out of people.

Probably giving birth is like that. But it's over in a day or so.

(Or 18 x 365).

It is a Puritanism. The Art of Denying Others whatever you can.

Drug story ...

Recently I was in Walgreen's to pick up a prescription.
Several men and women were ahead of me in line. A young
man was being waited on by a woman who was looking at
a computer monitor, apparently checking on his prescription.
Then out of the blue she said in a too-loud voice ...

"SIR, YOUR INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER VIAGRA."

The man somehow remained poised and showed no reaction.
He paid up and left.

Seems like the pharmacy employee could have been a little
more sensitive and discreet.
