taxman, it may be just be greater volume or activity in the puts that lead many to assume people are hedging existing positions. Maybe they are just getting ready to assume new positions. How can one tell especially since the stock has not moved much.

I am willing to bet the smart money is on the stock moving up after the announcement. The dumb money is buying puts and/or selling stock. That is just my opinion of course.

I am expecting to make some money on my Nov 100 calls--they are still around where i bought them at (maybe 1/16 lower).
