Don, maybe last month's inflow to funds of $20 billions is part of that transfer?

Don,

OTOT

Right now the world may be witnessing the largest transfer of assets in history, between the WW2 generation and the Baby Boomers

You are correct that this is an immense transfer of asset control and that it will have and already is having a profound effect on our economy.

The generation born between 1900-1920 are 80+ and their ranks are thinning rapidly. They were young when our economy failed them and many consequently became extremely conservative savers and investors. However, because of their conservative spending habits, also learned during the depression, they have accumulated a vast amount of assets - many of which are invested in low-risk, low-return investments.

As the boomers gain control of these assets, equities will be one of the prime beneficiaries and will respond accordingly.

I speak of this from personal experience. About 5 years ago, my wife's aunt, born in 1910 or so, died suddenly and my wife became the sole beneficiary of her significant, but previously unknown estate. ALL was in CD's and cash. Now it is spread around a in a much more risk intensive manner but it has been earning a whole lot more than a taxable 6%.

My wife and I are not alone. I have to believe this is happening everywhere - not to everybody but to many.
