ff,

90% of my trades are Island executions and the other 10% are CyberLimit orders, usually to catch INCA. I've never had to use any other order type. Frankly, there are so many illiquid ECNs, most should not be bothered with. The CyberLimit will catch them if they're at the inside.

BTW I haven't traded NYSE since July. From Jan to July, I didn't trade NASDAQ. Go figure.

I use both CyberX and Brown and I have to say that all the fancy routing methods in the world dont match the quality of executions you get from Brown (I suspect because the MM's want the order flow).

If Brown had instant confirms, cancels, and access to shorts like Cyber-X does they would be unstoppable.

I find myself using cyber-limit as it is usually as good as anything you can do by hand. Cyberexchange ECN is good for the redhot stocks when the MM's are only getting in the way.
