Paul, I have never heard any complaints about AMD mobile chips having a recharge problem. what the chip might lack in engineering specs is often compensated for with AMD power managment software. I have on the other hand heard complaints about Intel based machines. However I base most of the complaints as being from people who do not have the lastest lithium Ion technology. Also there are tons of old IBM powerbooks out there which are for all practical pruposes obsolete. I currently use the Sony PCG F190 Intel Pentium ii 333 MHZ. which sports dual lithium batterys, the second neatly fits into the Floppy drive bay. I can get up to 8 hours of continues use whithout a recharge. For playing DVD which is a very demanding application I can get through two movies running remote. Most lap top users don't know that they can shut off power draining Features they don't use constantly to conserve power.
