Fed's Poole advocates 1.0 pct CPI target

biz.yahoo.com

"He added that CPI overstated inflation due to measurement problems."

Uh, ok. Do taxpayers fund his crack habit or does he have to pay for it?

The sad thing is that I saw a special last night on drug (legal) use. It seems drug prices have grown at 4X the CPI. So the poor old SS recepients gets phucked out of their true cost of living increases with the understated inflation in the CPI while one of their largest expenses blows away inflation. This country treats its' old people like garbage.

BTW - I am a 33 year old non-drinking, non-tobacco using male in perfect shape (been to the doctor maybe once in 10 years - the flu) with zippo claims, yet I received a notice that my health insurance is going up 19%. This of couse is on top of a 22% property tax increase on a rental, and a 40%+ increase on my personal residence. Inflation? Nope, not here.
