The Financial Post reports in its Friday edition that a truce has been reached in the tangled battle for control of Naxos Resources, the Vancouver junior with a controversial mineral exploration program at its Franklin Lake property in California's Death Valley. Reporter John Schreiner says that under the settlement agreement, Father Gregory Ofiesh and two colleagues will be able to join the Naxos board within the next few weeks. Mr. Schreiner says that Naxos was cleared by the Alberta Securities Commission of alleged core-salting, but Vancouver promoter Jimmy John, its founder and former chairman was forced to step down. (Mr. John is actually a Victoria stock promoter, and no direct allegations of core-salting were made.) The Post says that while the Franklin Lake property was explored for gold before, this year Naxos has switched its focus to explore for lithium and boron. "It is sincerely hoped that this settlement will lead to improved performance and prosperity for the company," says Naxos president Robert Gardner.
