<Often, I also wonder how I survived that peculiar period from about 15 to 25-28.>

I tend to think that all of this stuff is cumulative. It's interesting to talk to some of the older bodyshop men...guys who wrecked their lungs years ago and can barely blow up a party balloon now... They're the ones that get really mad when they see a young guy not wearing proper respirator equipment in the shop. We know a lot more about lung damage and toxins now that we did 25 years ago.... Up here, we have WHMMIS sheets on all the industrial chemicals that are used in a shop... must be the same down there... Nobody knew anything about this stuff...or even cared about it... maybe 10 years ago...

Knowing what we know today, a young guy not wearing a mask is just plain stupid... but 25 years ago, hardly anyone wore one... nobody seemed to realize that all of this stuff was harmful... It was weird... It didn't really take a rocket scientist to realize that there was something wrong... But then you have to think of how ice hockey goalies never wore masks before Jacques Plante... These days, a goalie would seem like a total cretin if he skated out onto the ice without a mask...

Hmmm.....
