Rande Is: I disagree with you on the JDSU/OCLI merger being obvious. I have owned JDSU since February and have followed the players in the fiberoptic sector since then. I saw OCLI as a strong, unique player in the sector and a worthy rival to JDSU. No way I saw this coming. Having said that, it is a merger with great synergies, just as the Uniphase/JDS Sitel merger was. There is little duplication or overlap and OCLI brings strength and expertise in several areas that JDSU is not currently involved in. If JDSU sells off (as the acquirer often does), I would rapidly add to my position. Any sell-off will be shallow and short-lived.
