LT, now I can understand why you have, what I call a misconception, of the ordinary older person no longer able to hold a job. I might add, that these older people would, very much, prefer to work for a living but, I found from personal experience that, after 50 years of age, no one will hire you. They always say "you are over qualified for the job description". I tried to tell them that I was no longer interested in an executive position but was quite capable of clerical work and some other categories. No luck. Finally, I left the college graduate off the application, and was able to get a menial clerical job and, some luck did occur where, at the end of 3 years, I was the corporate buyer, but the business was sold and that was the end of that. After that it was casino security jobs at a miserable rate of pay, but I could, at least, stay busy.

I still am not sure that Zoltans figures are a representative cross-section. TD
