One problem though I can think of is if this disturbing talk of Bob leaving the show is true

Let's say Bob leaves the show. No good thing lasts forever. This inevitable day is coming.

Survey results on this board, even assuming only 50% of the responses were true, last May indicate that Bob has made the vast majority of posters millionaires and those that did not achieve at least a million dollars from his advice are easily within reach of this goal. I suspect the people who post here can retire from the work force if they so choose. Most have achieved critical mass. (Critical mass defined as having at least $1 million dollars in cash, stocks or bonds excluding real estate.)

I suspect that Bob will continue writing his newsletter because his work is not yet finished. Bob wants to correctly call the top of this market and may want to continue writing the newsletter to get his subscribers back into the market at the bottom.

To some extent Bob's work is already done. Bob has delineated the rules to invest by, talked about long-term market timing, and has given priceless advice over the years. Bob's wisdom has enabled us to reach critical mass and it is now up to us to stay the course in the financial markets, "stash the cash" or to create an intermediate position between the two to keep us at the critical mass level. There would be nothing worse than to lose the gains achieved over all these years.

In any event, the posters on this board are in a win-win situation. No need to be disturbed instead be grateful you were at the right place at the right time to listen to Bob, you decided to subscribe to the newsletter, you were humble enough to put arrogance aside and take someone else's advice, and you profited from it.

You deserve it because you earned it and have a monetary foundation for a great rest of your life. Enjoy the money! As for me I will be "vodafoning" my way to Paris, is that a verb?, in December.

Marc,

If I read this book and didn't get Bob's advice at least through the newsletter saying to stay long I probably would be wiped out on my short positions<g>

Good point. After reading the book one could become very conservative. It is difficult to see investing both at a spot in time and as a process over time esp. after reading a book like this one.

Once again, after reflecting on the book one realizes how damn good Brinker really is.
