Looks like there are no clear numbers out there on the laptop segment in public domain. Here is my estimate based on a lot of points of data including retail surveys and analyst reports:

Q3 total laptop shipments: ~4 Mu (3.5-5Mu seems to be the range)
Retail segment: ~1Mu (estimated to be 20-25% of total)
AMD total shipments: ~700k (600k-800k seems to be the range)

For some reason the laptop retail segment seems to be a higher % of overall laptop market than comparable desktop segment. My speculation is that this has to with small businesses buying their laptops through retail.
