Mani - <And of course those OEM's sell their boxes in secret and invisible ways.>

Actually, I'm fairly certain I have a good picture of what's going on. Demand is high, and it's early in the ramp by the quantity Otellini said had shipped by last week. Still allows for good curve for Q4 (100's of thousands by 1st week, millions by end of Q). Intel has a lot more of a customer base to satisfy compared to AMD

And I do wish there would have been more on Pricewatch, in light of my blown prediction. Live and learn.

Looks like retail boxed versions should start being available mid month, or at least that's when some distis are saying they are expecting them.

Going through Pricewatch, even PIII 500's look kind of tight, but I'm not absolutely an expert at gleaning what the uP business is going to do by divining blurbs on Pricewatch.

Mani - Re: "I know, I know, Coppermines are coming. They are just late because demand is so big from the large OEM. And of course those OEM's sell their boxes in secret and invisible ways.'

You are using the lack of visible Coppermines (Pricewatc.com, etc.) as reinforcement for your opinion that the AThWIPE is the runaway winner in the performance race.

That's OK.

I understand your conclusion.
