Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm sure if a person gets off the tourist strip, which we didn't, you could find the real charactor.. The problem, imo, whether its Elko, Modesto, or
Biloxi, these nice small cities have been stripped by fast food, motels and gas stations. which screen the real place.

I agree, casinos have never done much good to ANY place.

Hey, Jimmy Buffet sang about Biloxi so I'm sure it's good and I believe everything he says..

When you mentioned Magazine St. earlier, I thought there must have been a section of it uptown that I hadn't been familiar with. The Magazine St. I used to know matches your description perfectly. When I would wear out my welcome in my neighborhood, I used to go to Magazine St. and hang out there for a little bit. I always had my antennae up going down there, some of those characters were pretty rough.

You must be a tough lady not to have been intimidated around there!
