<<I have no idea why anyone lives there>>

Because it's nice when waitresses with big hair call you "hon".

Tulsa is actually a very nice little city. There are some beautiful older neighborhoods. From the 20's through the 60's oil was king. It seems like even middle managers got to live in little mansions. There is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in town as well. If you're a fan of Art Deco architecture, the city is a treasure.

Tulsa U. is a highly regarded private school. Engineering is their forte. The renowned neocon Russell Hittinger has a chair there. He turned down a prestigious job in Washington to come here. I can understand why, this is a good place to chill out for a while. It's a place where you can rent a house in a good neighborhood with a nice in-ground pool for fairly cheap. We're in our third year now, and the pool is closed for the season. We are thinking it's time to move on.
