i dont usually do market orders.. but with NASD stocks.. I felt pretty safe... lesson learned

disagree re: market orders. always use them, except in certain circumstances. caveats: need broker you can trust to give fast execution. also, even if you have a good broker, you MUST use an aggressive limit order if stock is moving fast and has small float (i.e. put in limit at 30 3/4 if ask is at 30 1/4). otherwise, market is quickest way to get filled.

Not to keep tooting Mytrack's horn, but I use a market order whenever I want an immediate fill. I almost always fill in 10-15 seconds at the bid or at the ask. Only once it took 2 minutes, when DTLK was falling like a stone yesterday a.m., and even then I was only 1/8 of a point below the price that showed when I hit the switch.
