lebo, this could very well be the case with GS or some other. However, GS already is one of the largest MMs, I'm not sure what NDB brings to the table for them. A relatively miniscule number of accounts compared to their full service operation. And pretty much no brand equity.

It appears from the ML move and the Morgan Stanley move, that the full service guys will be most content to simply leverage their existing customer base for their moves online. My guess is that Morgan will lose a lot of the Discover customers because of the doubling of commissions. I also think GS and other full service guys are looking more at the SCH commission model, and the ML asset model than the $20 and under model.

I also thought not too long ago that NDB and SWS would make good acquisition candidates. I now feel you will see these guys merge with themselves in an effort to gain critical mass. We'll see in the next year, I would guess. The huge ad expenditures can't last forever. They will all soon run out of NITE stock to sell for this purpose <g>.
