I agree, and I've generally been very happy with them. Still, they have their limitations. For example, I had a casual interest in the upcoming UPS IPO, but Schwab was not allocated shares..."can't get there from here" so to speak -- need to go with one of the participating underwriters.
None the less, I Schwab for 90% or more of my trades, and except for occasional access difficulties, have never had a problem.
