<<<there could be a monkey flipping a coin and marking it accordingly in that black box of yours... John, Allow me to be friendly Eddy for a change and respond to your post which I find fair and in concert with your original question.I checked out your profile and find EDIG and FIBR which should make "things" so much easier as we have something in common on which we both agree. You are wrong calling the BS Detector a system. It would be correct to call it by it's name BS Detector. Part of a neural network. Your core sentence however is 100% correct. But what makes you so certain that monkeys are dumb? They count bananas real fast if you teach them and could throw the right number into any numbered box without bother. The BS Detector has many faces but you can see them only if you are prepared to accept as a fact that in spite of perceived reality- Wall Street like any other street in the world is numbers and probabilities. Nothing else comes close. To help along I want to restate a remark here which is not mine but originates from a illustrious character who stated once ".....but by reading the financial statement, the company's press releases and using His olfactory senses that can smell rat excrement from a mile away...." This statement impressed me very much because I correlated it to life time experiences on race tracks and now finally found confirmation what I suspected all along, namely thatit is not about anything else but how one looks at a number (like you wanted the BS Detector to be, namely a kind of verifier of preconceived hunches, concepts or ideas.) To have an instinct, a particular intuition (olfactus mentis), as philosophers say, which reveals to those types of human specimen a priori what is good or what is bad in a number. This instinct must be there. It can not be learned or purchased on the net.Yet anyway. You can find this instinct with accountants, investigators from the IRS, experts in financial frauds, brokers and numerous others not excluding gamblers on horses, dogs or card sharks. It would be great for me to hear that you changed your mind now that you know more about it. If you like, you can blame me for not telling you this in the first place. If you spot it you will fall in love with the BS Detector and wished that they never change the trading rules. I invite you and any onlookers to do a simple test. If you go to daytrader.cc you will see on your display the past trading days of the stock GUMM. You will notice the white field 5.1724.... You will notice the jump in price on that day. As further tip. Read the postings on the GUMM thread leading up to the news release inclusive the past two days after the news. By the way you find help there too.I have outlined what the numbers mean and there are people I assume which have some ideas and will help you. If you spot it ! Then you will firstly need a glass containing your favorite refreshment. Shakespeare's Hamlet,Alice&Mel from Hollywood, Ringling Brothers or CNBC don't come near to the show exchanges lay on for investors entertainment every day. The Ex.Senator was in error.BS is not walking as he said- but makes the world go around while the rest is talking about money. I don't hold it against you if you nominate me on the moron thread to pick up another trophy but equally I am quite happy to go further if you see it, what actually stares at you if you have done what I suggested. I will not help you. So don't ask me questions. Good luck to you and anyone else who want's to participate. Regards, ED PS.http://www.daytrader.cc/gumm.htm displays about the previous history of the stock. Just for numbers sakes.
