OT: Cowpland is a buffoon, the last in a great line that included Noorda, Kahn, etc. Corel's stock has been given a reprieve from its death-spiral by an unsustainable and unjustified wave of Linux hype. Sun's purchase of Star was the last nail in Corel's coffin, IMO. And then there are those insider trading accusations...

Cowpland and Matthews are two of the only entrepreneurs who have BOTH built multiple successful companies in Candada

That statement is only partially true. If you don't count the last two years for Corel and now it looks like don't include this year for NN I would agree with you.

The question is can these two guys turn things around to make your statement fully correct.
Cowpland lost a US class action suit and presently has the OSC charges against him. He is a bum in my books. Mathews is a class act on the other hand.
I also noticed that both of these guys have a large stake in their respective companies and basically run the show. In Corel's case Cowpland should have been booted out a long time ago. In NN case I think Mathews should have merged with NTL when they had the chance.
