IDT has registered numerous Domain Names for future web sites (or to prevent competitors from grabbing those names) as posted by SteveJerseyShore last week.

It helps if you understand Spanish to understand the meaning of these domain names and their potential significance.

I have taken Steve's post and added English translations, e.g. "With no money", etc. to the new domain names to give us an idea what IDT Mgmt is thinking:

And, from the CBSMarketWatch article:

cbs.marketwatch.com

"Under the arrangement, Terra and IDT will form an Internet service provider to target the 30 million Spanish speakers in the United States. Terra will own 51 percent and IDT 49 percent. In addition, the two will form a web portal, with 90 percent of that unit owned by Terra and 10 percent by IDT."

OK, Got it so far? Well I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that in addition to developing a joint website to market to the Hispanic market, IDTC & TERRA may join forces with NTOP to use their forthcoming website to sell or accept bids from customers for Spanish-speaking customers to call the U.S. using the NTOP internet telephony offering for very low cost.

Does this business model sound similar to the recent NTOP/Priceline.com joint venture?? - which, by the way is a groundbreaking idea to essentially auction off excess minutes over the web or charge more when minutes are scarce.

The possibility of a triad of Terra/IDTC/NTOP is very compelling indeed as NTOP forms the cost-effective missing link to enable Hispanics in the US to stay in touch with their relatives abroad.

So, the pieces of the puzzle are fitting together. I would expect some kind of announcement to this effect in the not-too-distant future.

Notice also there wasn't any description of the web portal to be developed by Terra/IDTC, they merely mentioned it!

Nevertheless, it seems like IDTC is becoming the next CMGI by establishing Internet joint ventures and incubating them.
