Thanks, I think. I treasure you, too. It's a beautiful day. I was just at the federal courthouse picking up the jury list for the trial I had set for next Tuesday, and one of the court clerks told me that the judge granted the defendant's Motion for Summary Judgment, and so the trial won't be going forward. I hate to admit it, but I feel somewhat relieved.

I had no idea how draining litigation was when I got into it, physically, emotionally, financially, it just takes a lot out of one, takes you away from your family, it's just very hard. It's especially hard when you do it on a contingent fee, I only get paid if I win, and further, if I collect.

I don't want to get into the details, but after a couple of very disappointing interviews with potential witnesses, I felt a sense of foreboding about my prospects, and felt daunted by the prospect of spending the next five days preparing for, and conducting, a trial there was a good chance I'd lose. So I just got handed five free days of life.

Not much in life sweeter. Winning is sweeter, of course, but if you're gonna lose, get it over with.
