Spyglass Sells SurfWatch to Focus More on ITV & Appliances

Spyglass closed on their sale of content filtering software company, SurfWatch, to JSB Software Technologies for a $17 million cash and $12 million in JSP equity securities settlement today - a sale that will enable the company to focus more on ITV and wireless developments and investments, said CEO, Douglas Colbeth.

Spyglass president and COO, Marty Leamy, also pointed out to ITVT that Spyglass wants to focus resources and capital on new strategic acquisitions they're working on; although it was too early to elaborate. As part of the deal Spyglass will resell the software to ITV customers. Established agreements so far are with WebTV, Comcast, WorldGate, Excite@Home, and American Interactive

Media. "We bring unique presence to the game", further commented Leamy. "We're growing and we have real revenues, not just market cap. We're looking forward to growing this business now the way we want it to grow."
