RTev, I am going to make my prediction and here it is.

2 Scenarios.

1. A very mixed fact finding---sort of a 50/50 for both parties. MSFT stock flies Monday. It will be judged a pro-MSFT ruling.

2. A stronger ruling against MSFT but still not as bad as some had been predicting (75% DOJ; 25% MSFT). MSFT still flies Monday but not as high as this might be considered as pro-MSFT by the market.

I am leaning to scenario 1 more than any other alternative. My logic is simple---Jackson was so quick to say that the AOL/Netscape merger changes everything last November or December. He was looking for a way out. He has his intregity on the line as well. If rejects the appeals courts ruling on Windows95 integration, i believe will believe that the appeals court will ignore his final verdict. Therefore, he will take the easy way out---scenario 1 if he is in a good mood and scenario 2 if he is in a bad mood.
If he picks option 3---then he is out to lunch and MSFT will surely appeal and probably win. No settlement is likely in that case--because he wants a settlement, 1 or 2 is the only possible outcome, IMHO.

I believe Jackson does not have a socialist type of bias and that is positive for MSFT.
