United Parcel Svce IPO range raised to $47-49/shr

WASHINGTON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - The projected price range for United Parcel Service Inc.'s
initial public public offering of 109.4 million class B common shares was raised to $47-49 per
share from $36-42 per share, the company said on Friday.

In what is likely to be the biggest U.S. IPO ever, UPS, the world's largest package deliverer, said
it could reap $5.058 billion in net proceeds based on the middle of the range.

That would easily surpass the U.S. record of $3.96 billion set by Conoco Inc.'s (NYSE:COCa - news) IPO in October of 1998.

Atlanta-based UPS disclosed the higher price range in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
