Shipping costs deterring online buyers, says survey.

This probably would be more evident on smaller purchases, but high shipping charges borne by customers via E-commerce will inevitably lead to strong competition for UPS. Something to consider with the upcoming IPO IMHO. (will not 'deter' me from buying some on Wend? Though)<grin>.

<<Amazon.com (AMZN), CDnow.com, and Barnesandnoble.com (BNBN) are the superstars of online music sales, according to researchers at Greenfield Online. The firm estimates that over the past 90 days, their shares of music shopper visits were 44 percent, 39 percent and 27 percent. The Westport, Conn. research firm said it found
nearly 60 percent of the 5,100 people in the study purchased music
online in the last 90 days, with a third spending from $50 to $150 online. A majority of online music shoppers indicated price
sensitivity, 79 percent saying they will not purchase online if they can find the item cheaper somewhere else. Nearly half have abandoned online music purchases because of the shipping charges involved. >>

So what's your best guess on UPS price when it hits the street?
