FWIW, I show two trades on ISLD, 1 for 25 shares at 59 1/2, and 1 for 5 shares at 62. I'd go with the Nasdaq closing price.

Philips Eyeing DISHPlayer Box

In an effort to grow its DBS presence, Philips is in discussions with EchoStar regarding the branding and distribution of a DISHPlayer system, the much-talked about set-top box with WebTV capabilities.

JVC already brands and distributes a DISHplayer system. EchoStar's Marc Lumpkin said Philips is "in negotiations" to sell EchoStar's DISHPlayer system, which will add another product to Philips' growing DBS line.

Both Philips and JVC brand and distribute DISH 500 systems, the latest set-top box from EchoStar. The boxes are ready for the OpenTV platform, which Lumpkin said purchasers will get via a satellite download when the software is ready for subscribers.

Both Philips and JVC get their systems from EchoStar, built by one of the DBS provider's set-top box contractors.

JVC distributes several models of DISH Network boxes to Sears stores under its name. Philips delivers DISH Network systems to Target and Sam's Club stores using its brand. In addition to EchoStar, Philips is working with DirecTV and TiVo on combining both services in one of its branded set-top boxes.

Meanwhile, Encore Media Group and EchoStar Communications are partnering for an extensive promotional campaign involving approximately 1,600 Sears stores nationwide. Under the promotion, customers will get a free STARZ! fleece blanket, a $40 value, when they purchase a DISH Network system, and order the STARZ!/Encore and America's Top 100 CD programming packages. The system is free after rebate. The promotion runs through Dec. 31.
