Yo_Wily...............HP designs their own Motherboards and produces most of them in INDIA. The HP boards were 2 slot designs from the very beginning, even the ones they showed at the Sept 1998 IDF were 2 slot boards. Compaq and IBM also have 2 slot motherboards and were also not affected by the 3 slot problem. I understand that a couple of the independent board makers also had some 2 slot production boards as far back as Feb. 1999. IBM also has 820 RAMBUS machines warehoused and ready to go since August. Compaq had not yet produced any of their own designs and were going to use the 3 slot INTEL boards initially, the same as DELL. Hope this info helps to clarify some of the confusion for you.
