Don't get ahead of yourself Proggy, it's a long road toward the remedy phase. Based on what I saw today on CNBC Msft appears to be the more reasonable party - Gates video response gave indication they are interested in working with the DOJ. On the government side I saw nothing but a lynch mob like mentality; led by Klein.

IMO the government can't do anything that would significantly interrupt Msft's business simply because that's not in anyone's best interest. The only thing they could do is put additional regulations in place to guarantee fair play for small tech companies in tech sectors where there are goliaths.

p.s. I'm cashed out for the most part; except small holdings (mistakes) in TWE and CPQ (ughh).

Cheers
James

I dont find the implications of the FOF to mean a dramatic downturn for Microsoft nor a dramatic upturn for Sun - at least for a while.

After all - nothing fundamentally changed about Sun over a year ago when its stock was trading in the high 30's to now when its trading at $220. Its revenue and growth rate isnt much different but Wall Street finally understood Sun's vision and how the pieces fit together - Jini for persistant, universal devices, java - universal middleware where all applications can speak to each other, powerful and robust servers for a Network based economy. The FOF doesnt change the revenue implications for Microsoft or Sun in the short term - but stock prices will move on these perceptions that Sun is in ascendancy.
