Alexander the not so great, What a fate, worse than death, forced to listen to Beethoven etc. It has been well established that classical music performance does make you a better mathematician. Modern rap music....I doubt that.
It is probably wise to limit the intensity of music to avoid loss of range and sensitivity. Many kids have lost as much as 50% of their sensitivity....more at certain frequencies, so a law like that will save some ears. As people get older they lose their desire for load music.
