If I see no signs of progress at all it usually gets worse and worse until it is just striving. The flesh will profit nothing.. it is Spirit that does the work of GOD. So far.. although your angry about the way God runs His business - your questions and responses are quite hopeful and show promise. Surely you know that at least one of Jesus' parables (the sheep and the goats) depicted believers falling into the goat category. << Yes I do but there are several tell tale signs that those goats showed.. One is what people call " greasy grace " or what the Bible calls licentiousness. I know that many people "who believe" in the end will not go to heaven. Look at this verse: Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Many people try to use this verse to show that Striving is an act of FREE WILL... this verse was spoken to Christ's hand picked disciples not the general population. Also the people who think this proves that STRIVING ( or the will ) helps look only at the part of the verse THEY WANT TO ! Jesus also says in the verse that Many will SEEK and not be able.. What about the Promise of Christ Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: You see I am the only one (and those like me )who can explain these things Brumar. There is no lie or contradiction here but it is only understood by those who know the Truth and the WHOLE TRUTH ! You must know what Jesus is saying about GETTING TO HEAVEN before you can understand.. The disciples were with Jesus all day for 3 years and failed to SEE It was only after God granted them the HOLY SPIRIT that ever piece fell into place. You see Matthew 7:7 speaks this way .......given you.....ye shall.......opened unto you NOT EVERY TOM DICK and HARRY ! To those who are the FIRST part of Luke 13:24 not those who are the last part of it. The sheep not the goats... If the Sheep seek they will find.... It doesn't really matter if I am a sheep... What matters is if YOU ARE ! SEEK and FIND OUT KNOCK and see if He will open.. if not then your not. But do you just sit there and go to hell ???? KNOCK MAN with everything that is in you KNOCK !
