The Catholic church is OK. However, because it is big and because it is also a political establishment it has all the errors that are ripe in other forms of government. A Catholic believes that the Church and the Pope are infallible on questions of morality. All other types of Christian groups identify themselves as Protestant meaning protesting the Catholic faith. There are many types of Catholic groups Roman, Ukrainian and within the last 30 years Novus Ordo or Vatican II. The real problem with the Church is that it got away from the Franciscan roots that established it and became a world power, that weakened it for the faithful. The Catholic church in Italy is slightly more suited to the locale and less bombastic. It is normal if you are walking down an Italian street on the way home from work and you hear the Church bells ringing to go in and attend mass. The modern church has lost almost all flavor. I've seen barns with more spirituality than the structures we call churches. SAJC

Colleen: Protestant means Pro - as in for something Pro-life Testant - as in testament or testimony of God It did not mean to be against anything but the devil changed the meaning. It meant to be FOR the Testament of God in the BIBLE. What happened to Rome and what IS HAPPENING to many churches is that they started off trusting GOD's WORD alone Then they believed that God also conveyed Truth for the Church by private revelation to clergy etc. BUT the Word was the final authority and superior. Then Extra Biblical revelation became EQUAL to the Bible Then MORE RELIABLE than the old worn out bible Then Utterly Superior to the Bible in that the decisions of the Church on Truth outwiegh God's Word... Apostasy... That is happening to most Churches to day... One thing you can count on about Catholics is they will likely not have a clue what the Bible says. Pro-testants tried to print the Bible and give it to the common man so the Roman Church killed many people and the work had to be done underground. =================================================================== Rome explicitly denies the doctrine of justification by faith alone, pronouncing an anathema upon those who hold to this principle. The 9th canon of the Council of Trent says: "If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified, in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to co-operate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will: let him be anathema. =================================================================== ==== his own will ====== Rome HATES ME ! well they are not alone... Do you see where they say if anyone denies that the Will of Man has anything to do with salvation to let them be accursed. They put a lot of guys like me to death.... The Elect who knew it :-} The Roman Catholic Church is of Satan and not a Church at All ! They quit killing God's People because it became too embarrassingly obvious which one of us was.... ============= Cain ! ===============
