TigerPaw:

Recent Intel chipset lineup; we will be lucky for 2% in 99

developer.intel.com

It time to get married to RMBS
It's something old (created 8/12) something new (RDRAM) something borrowed (confidential from Intel web site)something blue (as in slide backgound)
channel.intel.com

Does this slideshow have same impact 2 months later as it would have in Sep.

RMBS will still happen but current high end systems 533 and 600 haven't even hit the streets and CuMine which really benefits from RDRAM is right on it's heels. Intel has bloodied and beaten AMD and VIA in Press Releases and in the court system respectively, they can take there old old sweet time in getting 600+ microprocessors out the door to OEM's who have propbably haven't hit the mark with selling 533 and 600 yet.

The two slot solution has been known for months, but Intel thought they could fix the three slot

TP,

But there was a time on this board following the Sept 25 failed launch when we were speculating whether even a 2-RIMM solution would work. It would have been nice to know that some manufacturers had already decided on the 2-RIMM solution. I just find this a very strange revelation. It also means that the 3-RIMM solution was suspect for -- how long? This is quite a twist in the story for me.
