Gersh's email posted by request:

Saturday I was trying to conduct a test to try to determine the exact time that the SI server was set to.

My method was to post ten messages in a row where the posts had been sent sixty five seconds apart with the time set into the body of the post ..

My program was able to send off six posts before I got cut off.

At this time it looks like the SI server is about 50 seconds faster than real time.

One warning about SI time ..

I captures several packets to look at what the SI server had sent and received for the posting process. There is a parameter that is sent from the poster to the server that is "time." How the SI server uses this parameter I have not yet been able to determine .. and may not be able to after this.

Anyway, it is possible that the time of the post may vary depending on when the user went to the location to enter the reply.

Like I said .. possible.

What difference this would make, is that the post may reflect different time "gaps" depending on how long the post entry screen was held on the users computer prior to the post being sent off.

A couple of folks have asked me about longer time frames. At this time I'm working with twenty second time bars. I do believe that I can apply the same method to 5 min or 30 min bars to produce the same information/indicators for longer time frames.

Monsieur Gonzo:

I have not forgotten .. I will be pulling this back for the longer view.

Hal:

Magnitude ..

The blending of the many indicators produce a single number that represents the overall stress being placed on the market. Positive numbers represent a desire for the market to head up, negative numbers .. down. My triggers are based on changes in this number.
Friday at about 3:15 I saw the delta (contrast the 30 min average of magnitude to the ten) go to 0. It was then I realized that the daytime indicators had been left out all day long:

I have indicators that run almost 24 hours .. such as currency exchange rates. So I use that data for all times except for 3:00-3:30.
Bond interest rates time runs from 8:20-3:00.
Internal market stuff runs 9:30-4:00.

As of Friday I had been manually freezing indicators when they were not active and turning them back on began to move again. All day long Friday my daytime stuff was frozen. It wasn't until about 3:15 that I turned them back on .. even so, I had managed to be on the right side of most (if not all) of the larger SP99Z runs.

I'll be going back over the data to determine what the triggers would have looked like had these not be frozen.

I'm looking for a location that would be willing to echo my little update page. This would require the location to read my site every 20 seconds and make what it reads a page on it's own location. If anyone out there is willing to set this up, please let me know.

One last note .. I now have the battery back up on my machines ..

Could someone please post this on line for me?

Thanks

Gersh
