Charles,

Re:"AThlon volumes etc"

Yes, 1.2M pcs in Q4 is reasonable considering they had 150K in unsold inventory last quarter.

As far as HP it is possible.

I see the retail sector as a big HP/Compaq battle next year as IBM is going direct.

Seems to me that Compaq is pushing Athlons pretty hard so wouldn't surprise me if HP decides they have no choice but to match them.

regards,

Kash

All,

That's it.
hardocp.com

"It came to me from a pretty good source in Taiwan, that ASUS will STOP SELLING THE K7M Athlon mainboard very soon. It was directly told to me that this comes under pressures from Intel."

iNTEL is also suing VIA/FIC over the SD11.

The justice department isn't going to do anything to Microsoft.
Yesterday's result is the last you'll here about it.
Smoke and mirrors for the public's consumption.

Nothing will be done against iNTEL. Money rules the world now.
Right and wrong CAN be bought.

Too bad iNTEL doesn't have a product to compete on a level playing field against VIA.

If you want some memory, you might stock up now. In six months, you won't be able to afford it. It will be the mid 1980s all over again.
iNTEL will get a bloody nose with VIA and the US will get involved, and you will not here the story of how iNTEL started it.

I think it is a great time to take a short position in AMD.

sTAY tOoOned!
