No Jay, I had no clue that I could cheat etymologic. I had no interest. I want to master things, not scheme & cheat. Aside: The high school in Finland recently had to outlaw cell phones in the classroom because students were sending each other SMS messages with the answers to test questions. Which raises the question, if we act collectively, and one knows the answer and can share, isn't that as valid as if all had to learn the same fact by rote? And if so, could this be part of the vision of the state of humanity that Carver Mead discussed in his brilliant presentation at Telecosm '99 where he concluded that the evolution of man has been irrevocably and basically altered. In that for the last 1,000 generations our evolution was controlled by erratic DNA modification, but that today, via the means of the intellectual tools we have created, mankind is for the first time ever consciously controlling evolution? Is that profound or is that crackpot? You be the judge...... In my judgement, Carver has got a clue.

So what about CANARIE, dude? Fergeddabout etymology for a minute, it will wait, it has for centuries. Hey, the weekends are for research, you can use these diversions during the week. Now is the time to get crackin' and do good work!@!

Laissez le bon temp roulez, Ray

I am just new to this thread, but I have to agree ;o) thats hilarious.

I'm am an tech companies dream. If you build it I will buy. I have a cable modem, Digital Cable, DVD, I shop online, I order movies from pay-per-view, Cordless phone, cell phone, GPS for my car, the list goes on. I've read most of the recent posts on this thread, so let me ask a practical question to the thread. What will be the next product or service I buy, because of these last mile technologies? Will it be Cable Telephone?

Are you married ;o) meaning I'm surprised the wife lets you get away with it ;o)

Best Regards

WB
