Great summary. Of course things that you dread are always actually worst at the shock of first sight. I think many of uwere so shocked on Friday that we couldn't see clearly. It was also a shock that Jackson gave very little credit to MSFT fot the huge benefit that it and Bill Gates have been to our civilization.

I am not in awe of Bill but I can remember what life was like in business and recreation only a very few years ago. Multiple operating systems, printer drivers that drove you nuts, very little by way of comparison to todays tech support from MSFT. OK you amy have to pay but they help you. I'm not besotted with Windows 98 and indeed I hate having to restart a couople of times every day for one reson or another or that the computer never seems to close down without restarting it and to fix it will take days.OK I don't like thise things but taken overall with Office Outlook all working in harmony with eachotehrr and all packages that all conform to the MSFT standard it makes a phenomenal contribution to our lives and if Bill hadn't been tough even too tough then this process might have taken years.

He is also a great role model for kids in this tech age that will have to produce a generation that makea living in a much more technical and knowledge driven society. Roles models are very important in the bringing up of kids all our kids. Most of them know who Bill is and it wouldn't do any of us any good to hurt his image.

Still having got over the shock as I say I thnik that things moght no be so bad as I had at first thought. Firslty I guess both sides will at least be thinking about a settlement. Secondly MSFT will be thinking its own strategies and that will encourage analysts. MSFT has the clout to lobby and pursuade lobbyists about the future value of the company.

That should help and so long as there isn't a flood of selling tomorrow then some sort of reasonable stability should emerge after a day or so.

Best regards,

L
