We all know that this case is the top joke of the century. The Hi Tech industry does not need the intervention of the government to put on a regulation on companies about product development and market strategy , i.e, what you are allowed to develop, what is not, how the product should be developed, what functionality should be implemented and what should not be. How the product should be marketed , and what should be the price of product, what market companies are allowed to sell their products to ...etc, the market force will do the job.
In the judge's FOF, it enphasize that innovation did not exist in the market place, and consumers are hurt. But , what bother me is the whole FOF did offer people a single words why the innovation did not exist and consumers are hurt; quite on the contrary, in the real world, we see new products, new invention keep comming to the market and benefit the consumers. The judge probably just lost contact to the market place at all, and all the FOF just based on his own imagination, and the direction of the DOJ and the crying babies who
can not compete in the free market, because they do not have the right products to benefit the consumers. All in all , we all know what products, from what companies to choose from is all free choice of consumers. The companies whose products are accepted most by the consumers should not be punished because of its success. If the government really like to put a control on the Hi Tech industry and the market place as well as consumer's freedom of choice, then why not announce publicly that this is a communist country , and that from now on we are not a free market anymore, everything will be regulated and controlled by the government. Just like the tobacco industry , the government said tobacco is bad for people , but however,
if you pay me the money, well, I will continue allowed you to sell tobacco to the people ; to look at this from another angle, the government is actually commit the same crime by allowing the tobacco to sell its products to the people , this time , the difference is the tobacco companies have to pay the government to hurt the people .
If the government is really serious about the health of people , then why not just announce that tobacco is not allowed to be sold to the market anymore , no matter what !! Well , I call this double standard . If you pay me the money , you can do anything you want . Just like the crying babies, they pay, so they are immune to the anti trust suit.
As to the y2k presidential election, I bet this case will be a very big political issue , big enough to let one party lose completely.The issue will be :
Do you pro freedom of choice or government regulated freedom of
choice ?
Do you agree that the corp america have the right to decide what
and how the products should be designed as long as they are benefit to the consumers , or government should
intervent and decide what and how the new products should be designed ?
Do you agree on free market force , or do you want the government
to talk about the stock market from time to time to teach people
how to invest / regulate the market?
Finally , do you like a free democratic society ( A real one) or
communism ( a society full of government control, regulation ..etc)
The reason that the above will be a very big issue in y2k presidential election is because these will have a very big impact on how people's life will be impact in the very long run in this country.
And I see we are heading to the wrong direction .
I am glad the judge announce this FOF one year before the election
which show the true color of the DOJ and the judge, and it will give people enough time in the next one year to make a decision before the election. So, the above issues will be on and on on the medias, on the TV, the newspaper, professional magazines...etc, and candidates of both parties will have to give a clear answer about where thay are standing about the above issues, and people will whatch the debate closly before the camera , make the judgement and decision to cut the vote. So, people will make a judgement about this
case eventually, and the party which lose will have to go !!!! Let's see !!!
As to the stock, the FOF of the judge will have very little impact on the stock price, all in all it is the earning, revenue, long term growth which count.
