It was also believed that six tactical
nuclear weapons in suitcases were "lost" somewhere and
the location of these highly portable weapons remains
unknown to this day.""

John, I read about this a few years ago, but Russians denied
this. God help us!

Please note that in a country like United States an angry
general can not start a civil war! In Russia, several angry
generals can direct their tanks on Moscow and start a civil
war, or occupy a some missle silos in Siberia and decalre independence. These people, and are 140 years behind
the Americans when it comes to political maturity, and emotionally, well, they are Slavs! gg All is possible. Since you have seen a lot of Russian movies, you should see the "Air FOrce One." gg

Regards,

Yaacov

So you think Chechen war is political? Are you sure? <gg>

This is much more political than "Politician" let this out...Press? This is no Levinsky or even Kosovo....Yet a next cataclism was set in motion..The most dangerous development since Nazi and World War II is set in motion...
What is next? Russia/Georgia-Armenia-Azeri conflict and bloody mess is slowly cooking in the tightly closed can..it is no way Russia will permit piece in Caucauses without demanding the usurious payoff....Even after Russia will get it..that would serve only as appetiser..we are living in the interesting times..

"The U.S. State Department has said the Caspian could hold
200 billion barrels of oil -- more than those in Iran and Kuwait
combined -- though other estimates are between 25 billion and 35
billion, equivalent to the North Sea fields.

...The project has been in the works for six years. Turkey sees
the pipeline as a way to break Russia's century-old hold on the
Caucuses, which were part of the Soviet Union. Azeris want their
independence from Russia to be reinforced and to build ties with
Turkey, which has become their closest ally.

U.S. President Clinton will likely be a special signatory to
the inter-governmental agreement on the pipeline during the OSCE
summit.
``The president certainly has a significant interest in the
early conclusion of the Baku-Ceyhan framework agreement, in fact
of the pipeline itself,' Wolf said.

The BP Amoco-led group -- known as the Azerbaijani
International Operating Co. -- has said the project would cost at
least $3.5 billion. The pipeline is expected to start pumping oil
in 2004.
