Welcome to Tobacco road. The Fud could be worse than a break up. A break up could benefit shareholders ie AT@T.

But you can't a PC without Windows. PC = windows OS. And you can't get Windows without IE.

Yes, you can. You can order Linux-based computers from several companies now. Or, you could always assemble your own. I know. I did. You can even download CD-ROM images of RedHat and burn your own CDs, paying only for the media. I know. I did. And, BTW, you can't download a disk image of RedHat Linux, or buy it in the store, without getting a copy of Netscape, if you want it or not.

People buy Windows-based/loaded computers because of the convenience of having a pre-packaged system with a wide variety of Commercial Off The Shelf software available easily, quickly, and cheaply.
