Lizzie, they talk about the Linux stocks (rhat and cobt) as benefiting as well. I'm still a little sceptical of cobt LT, as the market for preconfigured Linux boxes is estimated to be only 500M in 2002.

Moreover, cobt faces a lot of potential competition from the likes of sunw, hp, etc. It's really not that hard to preconfigure and ship a Linux box. Kind of a commodity item, I would imagine. If it's all about support and service, as they say, then sunw and hp are not competitors to sneeze at. Plus, they have enormous established customer bases.

However, that doesn't mean that cobt won't go higher ST, given the msft ruling and the current Linux mania....

I agree that we will see a intra-sector rotation as the result of the MSFT. It doesn't change the fundamentals of the sector but it will sure change where the money will lie over the next few weeks.

Here is an interesting post...I wish more people put DD like this on SI.
