re: "...US system of justice will not allow corporations the right to destroy the American entrepreneurial and Yankee ingenuity spirit."

We're not destroying anyone! That was the claim all along but that is not a valid conjecture. Technology has exploded. We have various platforms available. Go blame corporate America. They selected NT... They all have a choice. Their decisions to use the platform contributed to this as well. Now a few cry, "it's unfair".

What would the DOJ ask for? Break-up? This is not like AT&T. In fact, this decision now legitimizes so many unfounded cases against so called monopolies, I believe the flood gates will open up and destroy numerous large firms. How about ORCL or SUNW. What about AOL or YHOO? How about Walmart? Home Depot??? Lawyers argue the markets are open to all in those cases but think about it. Are they really? Will AOL be the big bully 10 years from now?? Of course! MSPG and many of those others now blame Case! Can you believe this?!! KMart can't compete with Walmart and WMT is getting bigger as we speak. Is it KMarts fault or WMT's???

Remember having what's declared a "monopoly" is not against the law. It's whether it poses a threat to the consumers well being that is in question. Is the OS unfairly priced? Is IE the only browser? Is this the only OS available? The argument was do others have the ability to compete? Pretty tough when corporate America selects MS and your trying to sell them "Joe Shmo Office Suite" based on "Betty Bops OS"

How about the New York Yankees? More money to spend then all others due to the market they hold. When they go public, would they be a monopoly? Other teams already can't compete with the salaries they pay. They reap great rewards out of being World Series champs. I want to have a team that should be champions. I don't have access to the markets they have. I can't get the money they have because my team CAN'T have equal access to New York City and what it offers. That's fair???????

I think the government got this one confused with something else(AT&T). $2.00 a minute for phone rates and no other access due to literally no phone lines. That was killing consumers.

My software is relatively dirt cheap and the OS is a fraction of the cost.

BTW, Jackson's conduct as a judge left me to believe he had this case decided long before many of the facts were exposed. MSFT looked pretty lame at times but still, not much in the way of being impartial while the facts are debated. I think he was in way over his head.

It will all be settled out of court now before we go any further. MSFT will break into 3 parts, the OS source code WON"T be made public anytime soon and they will turn around and kick everyone's ass again because they hire the best and still have the money to do whatever they want too! Corporate America will look in the mirror and realize what they have is pretty damm good and won't change in most part. Others will struggle to compete with what's out there, with a few products doing well but it's not like we need a complete overhaul!

Just my opinion!!
