Lee, i'll take a run at answering these if that's ok, i follow and hold the stock too.

"(1) Was the mutual fund selling, (roughly 550,000 shares) responsible for the decline in share price from $1.00+ in early April '99 to the current 1.04? That's a rather disturbing decline, though not if the insiders were buying as the fund was selling."

chart.canada-stockwatch.com

No, i don't think it was just the funds [plural] selling from late April to early June, i sold some myself early in that period as did keith massey, the author of those posts. It was fairly apparent that they were in an early stage of the business plan at that point, the AGM was in mid-April and the 1.12 top came in anticipation of news of a deal at the AGM. Didn't happen, stock sold off. Quite predictable, imho. Then through the summer the volume was above any fund holdings, though the funds were a significant factor weighing on the price, imho, but probably not the only one. People just get tired of waiting at different rates, maybe. I am mystified as to why anyone would sell to me through August and September at those prices. But they did.

"(2) A quick analysis of the balance sheet indicates that with 30 million (pre-diluted) shares, the stock has a book value in excess of $1.50. I have no problem with stocks selling at a discount to book, but this again is an extraordinary discount. Are so many missing so much?"

Lee, i don't know where you got that figure, but it is incorrect imho. As per the most recently reported figures from the website - jordex.com - they have 18.9 millions Cdn in cash ... then there's the million US they put into medsite, roughly 1.5 Cdn, and the retained interest in Loma de Níquel which they have on the books at 1 million Cdn. So that's roughly .71 Cdn/sh. They hold the cash in US-denominated instruments, so the Cdn figure will fluctuate with exchange rates somewhat [hence the 'loss' in the last reported quarter], but the US figure doesn't. But a book value over 1.50 - i think not. The value to the play is in the people and the business plan, imho.

Here's the direct link to their sedars [Cdn equivalent of edgar] - sedar.com ... cheers

Lee, have you taken a further look at Jordex? Hope i didn't put you off by my estimation of book value, as that is not imho the defining value of the company, but rather the people, the relationships they are building, and their business plan. On which there was news out yesterday - biz.yahoo.com

The stock was halted for that release. But just before it hit the wires this one appeared first - biz.yahoo.com

Some of us think that the market took the Enviromation release as the main effort and was underwhelmed, hence the action since - quote.yahoo.com

The other is far more important imho, it is confirmation of the reasons i follow and hold the stock. Keith was the first to realise the rationale for the Enviromation deal - Message 12066883

He's doing a nightly TA update as well - geocities.com

Hope this fits the parameters of the thread, i think it does on 'strong fundamentals and stock action' and also on the '"pulled back" for a short rest'. No question that i believe it worthy of wider attention ... cheers

Lee, your post to me on Welcome reminded me of Market Gems. Used to lurk this one a lot when there was time, and am looking forward to it again over the next few weeks, or as long as Classic survives.

Remember Jordex? ... well, the story she continues to develop - chart.canada-stockwatch.com

keith updated his summary - Message 12286370

and he keeps his TA page current each night - geocities.com

I think it's a good one, and worthy of a wider audience, for sure. While it is currently a Toronto listing, the focus is US/international and the core people are yanquis operating out of NYC, and they plan to list on Nasdaq. Name change coming soon, which is one of the first steps. Medsite S1s pretty soon. Then specific news of new deals before long, i'd be surprised if we didn't hear any by the first of February, and they could come much sooner than that. A momo play just starting, with potential for a home run imho.

And yeah, i'm an old guy. But you know what they say, 'don't trust anyone under 30' -g- .... cheers
