$Mogle: as you probably know, Each grouping of typical 'screens" set up by these systems can follow or track hundreds of stocks. Each baby window has its own perfected function. A stock window may only follow one stock, but has the set up for making the trade built into it. A series of top 10 windows may have either vol, % hi/low, $ hi/low. Another window may keep track of 30, 40, 50 stocks with more info than you can make effective use of. With the type of trading that I do and that I think most of us do....which is a few stocks on any given day and perhaps only one or two stocks actively, not counting longer holds.....either the basic Watley or Trade Cast will work miracles for the trader who is using an E-trade/Waterhouse/type of set up. I used those types two years ago and drove myself nutz. These systems eliminate slippage and your trades are instant at the market and since you can see the tape on an issue, if you have a lmt order and see that it needs to be changed, the event takes a few seconds. I suggest you download the test rides they offer over the weekend and take a look. Trading is very easy with a few hours of testing. If you have anything you get stuck on the back offices of these systems usually have an instant answer. If you get stuck on the weekend, I'm always lurking around somewhere. Watley has an on and off reputatiton for good service. In theory, once you are set up and their servers are doing the job intended, back office support requirements should be minimal. I have been using Trade Cast for 6 months and have had very few and only minor problems. They can be reached at 1/800/327/1883. I don't think it gets better than Trade Cast. Less options than RealTick, but quicker utilization. Shootie
