I think Gerrys objectives were to take over the entire canadian airline industry. I dont think he will waste his time now. He will probably sell out his position and pocket a cool 25 million. I also bet that AMR has some fees to pay to Onex, further raising their profit. My guess is that this whole situation started by AMR approaching Onex, because they saw what was going to happen in the short time horizon. I think AMR made the best possible run at this they could, and they almost won. AMR still needs a partner in Canada for their Asian connectors. They will probably sell to AC with a little backroom tradeoff. AC will give a little to make this happen.
