Haim, I am still reading the opinion but I am surprised at the broad reach of the Judge's findings. The findings are VERY broad and could be read as supporting some "per se" violations of the antitrust laws. "Per se" violations are certain actions that, if they are found to have occurred, are deemed so anticompetitive that no defense exists (eg. that consumers might have benefited by the illegal action). If there are per se violations by MSFT then the only remaining issue for the Judge to decide is damages and other remedies.

Keep an ear out over the next few days to see if this is ever talked about (or the issue of huge damages exposure)or whether the spin prevails. My guess is the only place you will hear something like this is on NPR or PBS.
